Get in on the growing destination wedding market with these ideas

If you are interested in getting into real estate, getting into the ever growing wedding market or simply start a wedding side hustle, this idea is for you.

Destination weddings can make you some money if you do it right, listen to the ideas and adapt them to your area.

While living overseas in different countries I noticed so many rundown buildings.

That exists in many places, but the scenery and locations surrounding them was so beautiful it seems like a no-brainer to renovate and offer it as a wedding venue.

The destination wedding market are weddings that take place outside of the city or town where the soon-to-be-married couple resides

The opportunities are in:

sales of destination wedding services

planning, booking, and assistance with various ceremonies

Real estate (venues) which is mostly what we’ll focus on.

Before I go too far into this idea

I want to give you some related stats from Report Linker:

  1. The destination wedding market is expected to grow to $64.01 billion in 2026 at a CAGR of 31.5%.

  2. The rising penetration of social media is expected to propel the growth of the destination wedding market growing forward.

  3. Eco-friendly weddings in natural locations have emerged as a key trend gaining popularity in the destination wedding market. 70% of couples agreed if they planned to have a marriage in 2022 to include environment-friendly activities

The report is linked below:

The idea is basic.

In whatever country you’re in I’d do some research. What is the wedding venue market like? How can you attract people from overseas OR people from other cities? Then, shop around. What can be renovated? Should it be a beautiful old building in the city or a rundown farmhouse surrounded by mountains. It depends on what you want to attract.

Also, what will be your thing? Nowadays weddings can be a bit more unique and playful. In my city there is a micro-wedding venue. It’s a renovated tin building that holds a small amount of people. In my state there are plenty of farm wedding venues: https://www.wedding-spot.com/wedding-venues/Rustic-Barn-Weddings/Wisconsin/

Maybe you don’t want to renovate or deal with real estate.

But when an industry is growing, it’s easy to look at what you think the main bread and butter opportunity is and forget what opportunities may exist surrounding it.

Are you in marketing? specialize in the wedding market for clients looking to draw an audience for their venue from overseas.

Are you a dressmaker/tailor in a country where there are venues? Partner with a venue to offer services or emergency fitting services.

Are you a winemaker? Partner with a venue to do the bar services.

Dj, singer, planner, makeup artist, photographer, photo editor, website designer. Opportunities exist here for you as well if you specialize and partner. It’s easier for a venue to utilize the services of someone who does good work, has a great price and is reliable regularly rather than finding a new partner every time.
