With a lot of small businesses, they do things as they go rather than all at once.

Especially for us solopreneurs and time/cash strapped creators it can be hard to consistently give our business everything that it needs.

That’s why I find it important to build a digital foundation, as soon as possible by populating your channels: website, social, video with a basic amount of content.

In this post I’ll be talking particularly about the blogging side of this.

I believe that you should have at least 30 – 1,000 and 2,000 word articles on your website, related to your business.

I ascribe to the Income School method of content.

They are geared towards affiliate blogs but test and retest with analytics how to get and monetize a blog as soon as possible.

Also, what are the ideal number of blog posts to have.

I like Dan Koe and I know he says about 10-20 blog posts.

Why you need to have a certain amount of content on your website, when you launch is for attracting your audience.

More content means that you have more opportunities for people to find your website in a Google search.

When you write interesting articles that utilize the words related to your business (or SEO) you attract the audience that is interested in that topic. They then find that you have a business, in the same topic area.

Not only that, but it takes time for your content to rank on Google. Post a large amount of content at once so that when you get busy or inconsistent, there is something on your website always working to get eyes on your business.

That is the basics of content and SEO strategy.

Here are some tips to remember when writing your articles:

  1. You can definitely use ChatGPT – Just make sure to edit by adding relevant keywords and tailoring it to your experience.

  2. Make it as scannable as possible – Use pictures, bullet points, bolded text and short sentences.

  3. Think like your audience – what are the questions they probably have about the topic? Answer all of them

  4. Sell at the end – You want to add value as much as possible, but when you want to plug your business, give a call to action at the very end or subtly in the article, with a link to the action you want them to take.

I’ve compiled a list of the best titles that you can use to begin writing the content for your business.

  1. The beginners guide to….

  2. The top 10…

  3. The 3 best videos about…

  4. How to….. the right way

  5. The 5 benefits of….

  6. Everything you need to know about…

  7. Stop doing …. And do this instead…

  8. …vs….which one should you use?

  9. 15 science-backed ways to….

  10. Why you shouldn’t…

These titles being workable can obviously vary by your industry.

Use this simple trick when choosing what to write about.

Go to google.com

Choose a question word:

– Who

– What

– Where

– When

– Why

– How

And your business topic.

Begin typing one question word, then the topic and see what google begins to suggest to you.

Those are your article titles!

You already know people are searching for them.

So use them as blog articles and fill in the content.

It's important to:

  1. Have a large amount of content on your website right away so your business can rank over time.

  2. Use content to attract people to your business

  3. Incorporate the best Keywords into titles and have a call to action at the end of your articles.
